BUCKET HATS - THE CONTROVERSIAL SPRING TREND

Posted: Oct 08 2019

Not since 2018's ugly sneaker has there been such a divisive trend. And like with the ugly sneaker, you either loved it, hated it, or started seeing it so much you actually started to like it. Enter the controversial accessory for 2019 - the bucket hat.

For many of us, the return of the bucket hat brought back many memories of dorky 90s outfits and being made to wear them as kids against our will. But as those kids grow up and everything 90s is cool again, the bucket hat has emerged once more. Spotted on the runways and out on the streets at fashion week, not only is the bucket hat acceptable headwear, but it's downright fashionable (not to mention practical - hello sun protection!).

The best part of a micro trend becoming mainstream is there are so many different fabrics and textures to choose from, so you're guaranteed to find one to fit your style. Try a straw hat to dip your toe in the trend, or go all-out with tie-dye for the ultimate summer 2019 look.

We love how some of our MINKPINK girls have been wearing the bucket hat lately. Which is your fave?
